AMBUSH YOUR MARKET

Branding can be personal.

Guerilla marketing, a trendy form of slash-and-burn advertising, can be applied to any branding enterprise, even bioblogging. In this example, the candidate takes a poetic approach, which suits her personality. {Clue #1} Her “manifesto” is in her declaration of what branding is to her, and the depiction of her personal philosophy gives the reader (remember, a stranger) an idea of how she will work in the marketplace. {Clue #2} Her muffled statement about women buyers narrows the scope down even further—a woman who know women—an expert on the bigger half of the consuming market. (How could you argue? Especially if you’re a man.) And by taking this extremely unique neo-medieval approach, she not only gains the immediate attention of her reader, but she surmounts any fears that she may not be as aggressive as a more manly candidate, a prejudice that still hangs around ad agencies like old cigar smoke from the good ole boys.
