NEWS STORY — Who, What, When, Where, How

BIOBLOG — I am, I can, I did, I do, I will.

In journalism, you have to get all of the critical info up front and fast, usually in the first paragraph: Bill shot Bubba in the Brenda’s Bar on Saturday night after brawling over who could dance with Sheila. In bioblogging, you don’t have the luxury of that much time. Resumes, on the average (and they are all on the average) are allotted about 2 seconds of attention before the reader moves on. Now, even in the age of superfast PCs and broadband gaming, 2 seconds isn’t much time.
